Without Words

A quote often attributed to St. Francis says to “Preach the Gospel at all times and if necessary, use words.” I find Holy Week to be a good time of year to lean into the not using words to preach part of that sentiment. It all just feels too big to communicate. From the humility of service on Maundy Thursday, to the grief and folly of Good Friday, the quiet hope and solemn memory of Saturday night and finally the joy and relief of Easter morning it’s like trying to adequately describe the entirety of the Human experience. So for now my invitation to you is to look for the ways the Gospel of Easter and Holy Week are being preached around you without words. Where do you see death and rebirth, service and glory, and other Easter themes present in your life and in your community?

Peace,

Pastor Corey
